Increasing Our Knowledge on Human Trafficking

As a class we have been trying to learn more about human trafficking and how it has affected the lives of people locally and globally. Last week in class we learned about an organization called The Exodus Road. This organization works to find and free victims of human trafficking. The Exodus Road website offers more information about their mission and provides real life stories of victims. Congratulations to Family Services of NEW on receiving our $10,000 grant.  At the beginning of this week, we held our event to announce and award the recipient of our grant.  We had a great turnout of other students, faculty and staff members, along with some community members.  Our decision was hard, but with a lot of thinking and discussing, our class was able to come to an agreement and do what we have been waiting for all semester!  The journey throughout the semester was enjoyable, challenging at times, and a great learning experience.  This class provided a unique opportunity for us to learn in a different way and it gave us many memories that we can appreciate when looking back on our college experience.  Thanks to the Learning by Giving Foundation, UWGB, Dr. Warner, and anyone else who made this possible.  Thank you for following along with us this semester!
